Tuesday Feb 22, 2022
Tuesday Feb 22, 2022
In this special episode Simon (my hubby) shares a little of his thoughts on running. As a warning - Simon is not “in love” with running at all and in many ways it is a means to an end for him :)
His perspective is a little different from most of my guests, but he has been running in some form on and off for most of his life. He sees it primarily as an efficient way to be fit enough to do all the other things he wants/needs to do in life :)
Simon also reflects on his recent cancer scare.
Simon’s running tips - just do it.

Episode 70 - Even when its hard, you never regret a run
Tuesday Feb 15, 2022
Tuesday Feb 15, 2022
In this episode Jemma Purandare talks about what running looks like in her life! She is a keen distance trail runner which works perfectly with her career as an environmental scientist! Signing up to scary running goals is her secret to getting out the door and training each week - this years scary races - the 6 foot track marathon (Blue Mtn, NSW) and UTMB CCC (for the uninitiated this is 101k ultra trail race around Most Blanc in France)…
Like many of us, Jemma sometimes struggles with body image (especially at races), however she recently had surgery which has forced her to accept and be grateful for what her body can do thanks to running. She now works with her body and not against it.
I hope you enjoy this delightful conversation as much as I did :)
Jemma’s running tips - just give it a go with no expectations on yourself, find a set route/loop nearby that you can do regularly (so you can measure your progress), don’t get sucked into having to run faster or longer & don’t something that brings you joy.
