In this episode of the podcast Vlad Ixel talks about how he moved to Australia in his teens after leaving Ukraine as a very young child and living in Israel for 10 years. He started running in his mid-20s and took to it like a duck to water! Prior to covid Vlad was a sponsored athlete and found himself traveling the world racing in ultra trail runs. Now he is still racing, has a great Youtube channel full of awesome strength exercises for runner and he’s started a business with his wife developing and selling a running hydration product! Lots to learn here :)

In this episode Fiona de Wit shares how she starting running about 10 years ago after she’d signed her kids up to running club and decided she should also give it a go to. She hasn’t looked back - running is now a part of her life and she loves that it keeps her feeling strong and fit to take on what ever she feels doing.
Fiona also points out that when you become a runner you can also become a bit of a shoe collector :)
Fiona’s Running Tips - If you’re already walking, introduce a little bit of running, start small then build on it, and throw in a few stretches at the end.

Sam took up running initially to loose weight and can now can’t imagine life without running. Alicia Gerbert joins us on the podcast all the way from Connecticut in the USA for a chat about her running journey. Sadly Alicia lost her younger sister a couple of years ago to cancer and this triggered her to start looking after herself more. So she started running and within 2 years she’d lost 60 pounds and ran 2 marathons. Alicia is loving her running and its become a big part of her identity - importantly it’s empowered her to take on other challenges in life.

Today we chat with Ben Brockman about his love of running. Ben is an Exercise Physiologist (and running coach) who has pretty much always loved to run. This episode is full of gems we can all use to improve our enjoyment of our running - including make sure your easy day is an “easy day”!
One of Ben’s pet peeves in the running world is the pressure that some people feel to always be moving onto the next thing - the next longer running distance. You can find a distance thats great for you, you don’t always need to be looking to run further - unless you know why you want/need to do that. So know your “why”, so you don’t get burnt out.
