Today we chat with Sim Brick, an inspiring runner with a story of resilience and determination. Sim talks about her childhood in Perth before moving to Melbourne, growing up in a big family with six siblings, and being actively involved in various sports.
Sim shares her struggles with an eating disorder and mental health challenges, describing how running became a crucial part of her recovery journey. Despite initially hating running, she found solace and strength in the sport. Sim’s story highlights the power of running to transform lives and provide a sense of freedom and accomplishment.
One of the pivotal moments in Sim’s running journey was completing her first marathon and raising funds for the Butterfly Foundation for eating disorders. This experience brought new meaning to her running, emphasising the importance of community and running for a cause.
